AI Data Center Power Demand

AI data center power demand is the electrical load requested by data centres that run AI training and inference, together with how fast that load grows compared with the generation and grid capacity available to serve it.

Example

The International Energy Agency estimates global data centre electricity use at about 415 TWh in 2024 and about 945 TWh by 2030 in its base case. Demand can be added in months, while new generation and grid connections take years, which creates a gap driven by delay.
